Please support me in the Walk for Parkinson’s Disease

Thanks for visiting my personal page!!
Hello there family and friends,
It's crazy I know, another year has passed and here I am again reaching out for your support in my fight against PD. Seriously, where does the time go? Geez. This will be my 7th year participating in this event.
Lately, I've been thinking about the word 'thankful'. I remember prior to my PD diagnosis, when someone asked what I was thankful for, I would say my health. Well that went to hell in a hand basket pretty damn quick, didn't it? lol
Now I've come up with a word to replace it. Appreciate.
For example, I appreciate the care that I get at Chelsey Park LTC home and I also appreciate the fact that I still have some sense of independence, as little as it is. I really appreciate my wife, Connie, it's been 46+ years, and my two daughters, Hilary and Amy. Hilary, my #1 chauffeur; who also works tirelessly every year at East Side Mario’s obtaining donations for the walk from her co-workers. And Amy, who always makes me feel so included in anything my grand daughters are doing. Her husband, Mark, who always makes me feel so welcome, and to you both for bringing us our two ( so far ) precious granddaughters , Mia and Emma. I also appreciate my mother-in-law, Jean Mills, who just turned 95 years old and still going strong. Love you all very much.❤❤ To the rest of my family and friends, I really appreciate you supporting me through everything.
I also want to acknowledge my home maintenance team, Rob H, Leo V, Mike S. and Greg M. I really appreciate the fact that Connie has someone to call when something goes wrong at the house. And I also want to acknowledge the people who come to play cards with me. My friend, Mike C., his brother John, Rob, Greg, Mike S and my brother, Gary. I appreciate the fun, guys.
The last person I want to acknowledge is Rick Bedard, who I affectionally call Big Dick, who last year took my advice using McCartys playbook to reach out to friends and family and ending up getting $254.00 in donations. Thanks, Big Dick. I appreciate the effort very much.
To wrap it up, I'm thankful for everyone,.because some things can't be replaced. I appreciate all of you and thank you for your support again. Until next year.
Take care.
Don
PS. If anyone wants to come and join my family and I for the walk on Saturday September 6th you are most welcome to join us. Please just send me an email or text message letting me know. Thanks
For a person living with Parkinson’s, each day can be a struggle to perform common tasks most of us take for granted. Medication can help symptoms, but there’s no cure for this progressive neurodegenerative disease. By 2031, the number of people living with Parkinson’s is expected to double.
With your support, together, we can ensure that there is a place for people living with Parkinson’s to turn to – a place like Home. Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario provides much needed programs services, advocacy and research initiatives to build and spread awareness, care and support for Parkinson’s. They are Home for everyone living with Parkinson’s Disease in Southwestern Ontario.
Please support me as I Walk for Parkinson’s this September. Your donation will stay local and help make a difference to more than 10,000 people living with Parkinson’s right here at Home.
