2025 Sarnia Lambton Walk for Parkinson's

Team Ian

Thanks for visiting our page!

As you know, Ian lost his battle with Parkinson's Disease last summer. I have participated in the Walk to raise money in support of the Parkinson Society of Southwestern Ontario (PSSO) for the past 10 years, 9 of them with him by my side.

I know first hand the valuable work the PSSO is doing. We benefited immensely from the support we received through monthly meetings with people who were also in our situation, webinars on specific topics related to the disease, chair exercises at the Strangway Centre, and access to books and videos at no cost.

As well, money raised at the walk supports the valuable research that Ian's neurologist, Dr. Mandar Jog, and his team are undertaking. A large part of Dr. Jog's funding at the Movement Disorder Clinic at University Hospital in London comes from money raised through walks that take place in September in Sarnia and 15 other area locations.

Last fall was the beginning of the concept of a Team Ian. What I am hoping for the 2023 Walk (which takes place on Sunday Sept. 10th at 1 pm at Canatara Park), is that we raise money as a team in Ian’s memory.

I have set up a Team Name: “Team Ian”.

There are two ways to support Team Ian:

1) Friends and relatives can join the team to walk and collect pledges in Ian’s name. Click "Join Team" at the top right corner of this page.

2) If you prefer not to solicit pledges, but would still like to support Team Ian, click "Donate Now" also at the top right corner of this page.

Thanks for your support and I hope to see you at the Walk.
