Please support me in the September 6 Walk for Parkinson's!

Thanks for visiting my Personal Page!
You likely know my sister, Lynn's, story. Diagnosed at age 44, Lynn had some wins during her time with Parkinsons Disease. The disease eventually progressed step by step, and little by little Lynn's experience went from struggling to perform common tasks to becoming totally disabled by the disease and requiring full care in LTC. We said goodbye to Lynn in December, 2023. She was a brave soul and I miss her every single day.
We now have a second family member (one generation younger) who has been diagnosed with Parkinson Disease. This makes me even more committed to supporting these fundraising events. The research is close to uncovering mysteries such as genetics, causes, prevention, and successful treatments.
Medication can help symptoms, but there’s no cure for this progressive neurodegenerative disease. By 2031, the number of people living with Parkinson’s is expected to double.
With your support, together, we can ensure that there is a place for people living with Parkinson’s to turn to. Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario provides much needed programs services, advocacy and research initiatives to build and spread awareness, care and support for Parkinson’s. They are there for everyone living with Parkinson’s Disease in Southwestern Ontario.
Please support us as we Walk for Parkinson’s this Saturday. Your donation will stay local and help make a difference to more than 10,000 people living with Parkinson’s right here at Home.
